JMBM Ranks No. 1 Among California's Full Service Firms in Registering Federal Trademarks in 2006

Los Angeles – June 26, 2007 — Further demonstrating its expertise in intellectual property law, Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro LLP (JMBM), one of California’s foremost full-service law firms, today announced that it registered more trademarks during 2006 than any other full-service California law firm.

"This distinction conveys the trust and respect our clients place in us to handle their trademark needs," said Rod S. Berman, chairperson of JMBM’s Intellectual Property Group. "Whether managing a complex portfolio for a large, sophisticated technology client, or assisting an entrepreneur with a trademark application, we have the experience, resources, infrastructure, and legal prowess required to successfully handle a wide range of IP matters."

Intellectual Property Today, a source for legal issues on patent, trademark and copyright law, publishes an annual listing of the nation’s top trademark firms based on the number of U.S. trademark registrations issued in a given year. According to their data, among all full-service California law firms, JMBM ranks number one for having registered the most trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2006.

"We take a multidisciplinary approach to our practice," said Berman. "Operating a national and international IP practice alongside partners who specialize in other areas of the law exposes us to a variety of clients, in a number of industries, who have the need for sophisticated trademark lawyers."

In addition, when litigation is required, JMBM’s Intellectual Property Group draws upon the depth of experience of the Firm’s trial lawyers in mounting appropriate technical and legal presentations that have persuaded judges and juries in courtrooms across the country.
