December 21, 2012 (Los Angeles, CA) – Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to announce the promotion of two associates to partner: Jonathan Weininger and Matthew Kenefick in the Litigation Group.
Jonathan Weininger is a Los Angeles litigation and trial attorney with extensive experience handling real estate matters such as those involving creditors’ rights, special assets, property ownership, and construction. He also litigates securities, commercial and general business litigation matters. Recently, he represented a real estate investor and developer against publicly-traded guarantors of a multi-million dollar real estate loan. The case settled in the client’s favor on the eve of the hearing on a motion for summary judgment.
Matthew Kenefick is a San Francisco litigator whose practice includes corporate, business and real estate matters, with experience in binding arbitration, trial, appeal, settlement and alternative dispute resolution. He recently represented a venture capital fund in an extended jury trial involving a breach of contract claim against a semiconductor corporation and fraudulent transfer claims against more than 20 defendants. The resulting verdict, which was upheld on appeal, awarded his client more than $4.5 million on the breach of contract claim and more than $9.2 million on the fraudulent transfer claims.
