LOS ANGELES – October 15, 2025 – Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) announced today that Matthew C. Sferrazza has joined the Firm’s Corporate Department as Of Counsel in its Los Angeles office. His addition expands the Firm’s securities and capital markets capabilities by adding experience with public reporting companies, emerging companies and venture capital, and securities compliance work. Matt also serves as founding president and board member of Bruin Angels, UCLA’s only alumni network focused on pairing accredited angel investors with the most promising Bruin-led startups.
Matt brings more than a decade of experience advising on complex securities matters, corporate governance issues, and corporate transactions, including in his prior work at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and AmLaw 100 firms in New York and California. He has advised clients on matters representing more than $50 billion in aggregate value, spanning public and private offerings, SEC and stock exchange compliance, mergers and acquisitions, investigations, and corporate governance.

Matt’s practice focuses on guiding clients through the full corporate lifecycle—from formation and early-stage funding through IPOs and beyond. He regularly advises boards and executives on SEC reporting, NYSE and Nasdaq compliance, corporate governance, investor activism, and strategic transactions. Matt’s experience includes advising on major public offerings, internal and regulatory investigations, and cross-border M&A.
Before joining JMBM, Matt served in the SEC’s Honors Program at the New York Regional Office’s Asset Management Unit. He also began his career as a Teach for America corps member in Los Angeles.
Matt holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and earned both his M.Ed. and B.A. from UCLA. He is admitted to practice in California and New York.
