JMBM Secures Victory in Robert Conrad Trust Litigation

Los Angeles, CA – September 16, 2025 – Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) recently secured a victory in the ongoing litigation surrounding the Robert Conrad Living Trust. Mr. Conrad was an acclaimed actor best known as the star of the Wild Wild West television series. The Firm represented the trustee of the Robert Conrad Trust, who was also Mr. Conrad’s decades long accountant and friend, in the matter and previously handled the estate planning for Mr. Conrad.

The lawsuit, pending since 2020, involved a contest by a disinherited daughter of Robert Conrad to his trust. The daughter, who was one of his nine children, was reduced from a one-ninth residual beneficiary to a specific gift beneficiary, and then subsequently disinherited entirely. The daughter claimed the trustee, along with two of Mr. Conrad’s sons, unduly influenced Mr. Conrad and financially abused him to effectuate her removal.

The matter proceeded to an eight-day-long trial before the Hon. David J. Cowan, who ruled in favor of JMBM’s client, the trustee, in affirming the validity of the trust documents at issue to disinherit the daughter.  The Court wholly denied the daughter’s petition and ruled she is responsible to pay attorney’s fees.

Vatche Zetjian, partner with JMBM, led the team that also included partners Burton Mitchell, Neil Erickson, and Jill Skinner.
