Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP Expands Litigation Practice with Two New Partners: John S. Cha and Michael H. Strub, Jr

IRVINE, CA—Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to announce John S. Cha and Michael H. Strub, Jr have joined the Firm’s Orange County office as litigation partners. JMBM’s strategic addition of these two partners underscores the Firm’s dedicated expansion efforts in Orange County.

John joins JMBM from Raines Feldman Littrell LLP. His practice involves a broad range of matters for various business entities and their owners, including litigation and transactional work in real estate, trust & estates, commercial disputes, commercial transactions, trade secrets and covenants not to compete, unfair competition, and insurance law. John has extensive jury and bench trial experience and all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution, and represents clients in state and federal courts and at all appellate court levels. Recognizing the growing demand for mediation services within the Korean legal sphere, John is committed to offering a comfortable and accessible environment for all parties involved in “Korean v. Korean” lawsuits. By providing Korean-speaking mediation services, he aims to facilitate direct communication between parties, thereby enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the resolution process.

John earned his J.D. from The Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and a B.A. from Northwestern University.

Michael joins JMBM from Greenberg Gross LLP and has extensive experience handling a variety of commercial litigation matters. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in patent disputes, tried a variety of civil cases, tried cases on behalf of creditors and interest holders in bankruptcy litigation, represented plaintiffs and defendants in antitrust disputes, and represented studios and talent in entertainment disputes. He has handled securities litigation, white collar criminal litigation, intellectual property litigation, contract disputes, tort disputes, and trade secret litigation. Additionally, Michael has maintained an active pro bono practice. Working with Public Counsel, he convinced a California district court to recognize trauma in students as a disability – the first ruling of its kind in the nation.

Michael received a J.D. with highest honors from The University of Texas School of Law, and a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University.

“I am delighted to welcome John and Michael to JMBM,” said Stan Gibson, JMBM’s Hiring Partner. “With over three decades of experience in handling complex business litigation and transactional matters, John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.
