LOS ANGELES—Trial and appellate attorney Mark Riera has joined Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) in its Los Angeles office. Previously with Akerman, Riera has significant experience in antitrust, trade regulation, class actions, trust and estates litigation, energy and securities matters, including appeals. He has represented clients in matters involving securities fraud, criminal defense, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and the False Claims Act (FCA).

Riera has handled multi-district litigation and opt-out cases in 23 states and has represented clients worldwide. His clients come from a wide range of industries including pharmaceutical, oil and gas, hospitality, medical devices, and transportation.

Riera received a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. from Pomona College. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, and has served as the Vice-Chair of the California State Bar’s Section on Antitrust and Unfair Competition.
