LOS ANGELES—Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to announce the promotion of three associates to the Firm’s partnership: Jamie K. Ogden in the Taxation and Trusts & Estates Department, David L. Ma in the Corporate Department and Andrew I. Shadoff in the Litigation Department. All three attorneys work in JMBM’s Los Angeles office.
David L. Ma focuses his practice on counseling public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance as well as general compliance and corporate governance. Ma represents a diverse client base, ranging from financial institutions to technology and start-up companies to manufacturing companies. He earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, and his B.A. and B.S., with honors, from Case Western Reserve University.
Jamie K. Ogden advises individuals and business entities on a range of tax planning, tax controversy and estate planning matters. He counsels U.S. and non-U.S. individuals on complex income, estate and gift tax planning, along with business succession and general family office matters. He serves as lead tax counsel on M&A transactions, financing, internal corporate restructurings and deferred compensation matters. He earned his LL.M. from New York University, his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and his B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Washington.
Andrew I. Shadoff has litigated a wide array of subject matters, including legal and actuarial malpractice cases, breach of fiduciary duty and related business disputes, patent, copyright and trademark infringement cases, and commercial lease and contract actions. Shadoff also regularly advises local California businesses on corporate governance and management issues. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Duke University School of Law, and his B.A., cum laude, from Duke University.
