LOS ANGELES—M. Anthony Brown, Administrative Chair of the White Collar Defense & Investigations Group at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM), has been appointed to a three-year term on the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s State Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee. This committee evaluates persons whose names are submitted by the Governor for possible nomination to the California Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal, particularly the Second Appellate District.
Brown joined JMBM’s White Collar Defense & Investigations Group in February 2018 from the United States Attorneys Office, Central District of California. As a federal prosecutor, Brown prosecuted a variety of fraud and other offenses, and also handled close to 50 appeals and ten oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Brown currently represents companies, individuals, and boards of directors in a full range of government and internal investigations, white collar criminal prosecutions, and civil litigation, including appeals. His experience includes health care fraud and abuse, cyber and e-commerce crimes, economic espionage, government procurement fraud, bribery and corruption allegations, and other areas of white collar crime.
