JMBM’s Natural Resources & Mining Group Announces New Blog

SAN FRANCISCO — The Natural Resources & Mining Group of Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to announce the publication of the Natural Resources and Mining Law Blog, a resource for the mining industry, trade associations, and companies focusing on solar, wind, oil and gas, geothermal, and liquid natural gas.

“The Natural Resources and Mining Law Blog draws on the experience of our attorneys who have represented the needs of the mining industry for decades,” said Kerry Shapiro, Chair of JMBM’s Natural Resources & Mining Group. “Our natural resources and mining lawyers have significant experience guiding companies through the complexities of government regulations and complex stakeholder negotiations that arise when acquiring interests in, entitling, and operating on federal and state owned public lands.”

Over the years, Shapiro and his team have been involved in permitting and defending major construction materials, precious metals, and rare earth projects, securing positive vested rights rulings from administrative agencies and courts, developing significant legislative reforms on behalf of trade groups, securing positive judicial precedents for clients, successfully engaging with natural resource management agencies, and developing creative solutions in dispute resolution with enforcement agencies and NGO groups. Kerry Shapiro also serves as General Counsel to the California Construction and Materials Association (CalCIMA).
