Environmental and Land Use Lawyer Jodi Smith Joins Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP as Of Counsel

Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to announce that Jodi Smith has joined its Government, Land Use, Environment and Energy Department as Of Counsel in the firm’s San Francisco office. She was previously with Paul Hastings LLP.

“We are delighted that Jodi has joined our law practice,” said Benjamin M. Reznik, chair of JMBM’s Government, Land Use, Environment and Energy Department. “Her broad experience and her dedication to solving problems will be of great benefit to our clients.”

Smith’s practice focuses on environmental and land use matters, including a wide range of permitting, compliance and enforcement issues arising under federal, state and local environmental laws, as well as environmental due diligence and related matters for corporate and real estate transactions.

“Jodi is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Kerry Shapiro, who heads JMBM’s Natural Resources and Construction and Building Materials Groups in San Francisco. “She will help us to better serve our clients’ needs – whether they are energy companies, real estate developers, or mining companies.”

Smith has represented real estate developers, commercial property owners, manufacturers, energy project developers, waste management companies, and other industries. She is the former chair of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of California.

“JMBM’s environmental and land use lawyers are among the best in California,” said Smith. “I look forward to working with them and contributing to the success of our clients.”

Smith received her J.D. from Vermont Law School, and a B.A. from the University of Texas.
