Jon Welner, Environmental Partner at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, is Elected to the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Environmental Law Section

May 27, 2014–Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to announce that Jon Welner, a partner in the Firm’s Environmental Practice Group, was elected to the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Environmental Law Section. Currently, Jon is also serving as the Chair of the Environmental Law Section of the San Francisco Bar Association (BASF).

“Environmental law has never been more important, and California is leading the way on a host of critical issues,” said Welner. “The State Bar plays an indispensable role in advancing the debate on these issues. I am greatly looking forward to contributing to this work.”

Welner has expertise in environmental, natural resource, and land use law. His practice covers all aspects environmental law, including the regulation of air, water, hazardous substances, radioactive materials, power plants, renewable energy, infill and coastal development, and “brownfields.” Welner also represents clients on complex prevailing wage matters.

Welner is the Vice Chair of the Planning Commission of the Town of Tiburon.
