LOS ANGELES – April 20, 2006 – Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro LLP (JMBM) today announced that it assisted its client, Huy Fong Foods, Inc., to secure a judgment and permanent injunction against an entity that was involved in the distribution of counterfeit goods.

Huy Fong Foods, Inc. sued Yak Szeto for counterfeiting its famous hot sauce brand products with the rooster logo. Judgment was entered by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California for $500,000 and a permanent injunction.

"We are extremely happy with the outcome," said David Tran, President of Huy Fong Foods. "The judgment is a win both for our company and consumers as they can now be assured that they are buying the genuine product."

"This settlement puts a stop to counterfeiting activities," said Rod Berman, Chairperson of JMBM’s Intellectual Property Group and lead attorney in the case. "Mr. Szeto is now permanently enjoined from infringing upon Huy Fong’s trademarks and trade dress."
